Listing Content Policy
Assisted private-draft listings
For an assisted private-draft request, FarmGateRun uses only factual business information from public sources individually nominated and authorised by the business representative. We write an original summary rather than copying long marketing descriptions. The draft remains private until the separate approval requirement for that assisted service is satisfied.
No-account business listing permission
An owner or authorised business representative may use the separate no-account permission process to authorise a FarmGateRun listing. The representative must confirm the submitted email address and permission through the private email link. That confirmation applies only to the exact public website and social-page URLs nominated in the request. It permits FarmGateRun to review those sources manually, extract factual business information, write an original summary and publish the listing only after administrator moderation.
The no-account permission does not create a FarmGateRun account, claim the listing or grant listing-management access. The business may later use the ordinary verified claim process.
Public availability is not permission to copy all content. FarmGateRun does not import reviews, ratings, testimonials, customer posts, tagged or customer photographs, third-party material, articles, full menus or catalogues, legal policies, private messages, customer databases, restricted content or unrelated personal information. FarmGateRun does not request passwords or access private or restricted accounts.
Images may be copied only when the representative separately gives the optional image permission and confirms that the business owns them or holds the rights needed to authorise FarmGateRun's use. That permission is limited to eligible business-owned images from the nominated sources; it does not cover customer, photographer, platform or other third-party media. FarmGateRun may omit any text or image during moderation.
An authorised representative may request a correction or removal after publication through FarmGateRun's correction and removal process. Email confirmation and administrator approval record permission; they do not certify the business, its products, availability, safety or legal compliance.
Visitor reviews and business responses
Visitor reviews are available only on claimed, published business listings. A reviewer must be signed in with a verified FarmGateRun account and describe a genuine first-hand experience, such as a visit, stay, purchase, order or direct use of the business's service. Each account may have one review per listing; editing updates that review rather than creating another.
Every new review and edit is pre-moderated and remains private until FarmGateRun approves it. If an already-published review is edited, its previous approved version remains visible while the revision is reviewed. A pending or rejected revision does not replace that approved public version; hidden or withdrawn reviews are excluded from public review totals.
The public rating is the ordinary arithmetic average of the ratings on published, non-hidden reviews, and the displayed count is the number of those reviews. FarmGateRun may use a separate internal Bayesian discovery score that combines a listing's published average and review count with a site-wide published-review average and confidence baseline. That internal score reduces volatility where a listing has very few reviews; it is not displayed as the public average and does not change an individual rating or written review.
A Location-verified visit or Recorded visit badge may appear when an approved FarmGateRun visit record supports it. The badge supplies context rather than an endorsement. Exact check-in, current-location and GPS coordinates are never shown with a review or disclosed to the business.
An authorised owner or manager of the claimed listing may submit one moderated reply to each published review, labelled Response from the business. It must address the review respectfully and factually. If an approved response is edited, its previous approved version remains visible until the revision is approved. The reply is not the start of a public back-and-forth thread.
Do not review a business you own, manage or work for, act on behalf of a competitor, or use a close personal or financial relationship to manipulate its rating. Payment, discounts, free products or other incentives given in exchange for a review are prohibited. Disclose any material connection that could affect how readers understand the review.
Reviews and responses must not contain private or unnecessary personal information, non-public addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, account, payment, identity or health details, threats, harassment, hate, spam, promotions, copied material, irrelevant content or unsupported allegations presented as fact. Describe what happened and distinguish personal opinion from factual claims.
Any signed-in member with a verified email may report a review or response that may breach these rules. FarmGateRun may request changes, reject, hide or remove content for policy, privacy, safety, legal or manipulation concerns. A business has no right to remove an honest critical review merely because it is negative or disputed; it may post its moderated response and report a specific rule breach. See Help for visitor reviews and business responses.
Delivery Only information
A Delivery Only listing must describe a genuine delivery area and must not invite visitors or customer pickups. FarmGateRun keeps its exact street address, map coordinates and Google place identifier out of public output. Businesses remain responsible for delivery coverage, charges, ordering, fulfilment, food safety and legal compliance.
A Delivery Only listing must not invite customers to travel to the business address and must keep its delivery area and ordering information current.
Farm Stay and Caravan Park information
Accommodation types, site types, amenities, prices, access notes, pet rules, maximum rig lengths, booking details and policies are operator-supplied information. Operators must keep those details accurate and must not claim that FarmGateRun confirms availability, suitability, accessibility or safe caravan access.
FarmGateRun may moderate or remove inaccurate, unsafe, misleading, outdated or unsupported accommodation and access claims.
Trail Partner listing contributions
An approved Trail Partner may submit a missing place for a proposed Food & Farm Trail only through FarmGateRun's existing listing-contribution moderation process. The organisation must use factual official sources, avoid duplicates, record its authority and attribution choice, and submit only text and media it has permission to share.
A pending organisation contribution remains private and does not count as a publishable trail stop. Approval or merge creates or links one canonical listing; it does not give the Trail Partner organisation business ownership, claim rights or listing-management tools. The business may later use the normal verified claim process.
Food & Farm Trail content and attribution
Trail text, partner names, logos, photographs, links and credits must be accurate, relevant and authorised. Do not put private evidence, member contacts, home addresses, private starting locations or raw GPS coordinates in public trail fields. A displayed partner is attribution only and receives no management authority.
FarmGateRun may request changes, reject or remove copied, misleading, unsafe, privacy-invasive, unlawful or unsupported trail content. Approval permits publication but does not certify the included businesses, products, food, roads, bookings, access, suitability, accessibility or safety.
Brand–stockist relationships
FarmGateRun uses one shared place listing for each physical location where reasonably possible. A brand that identifies a stockist contributes a relationship to that place; it does not receive ownership or management access to the retailer listing.
A place submitted only for brand discovery may be limited to that brand or product context and excluded from FarmGateRun's general directory, featured listings, trails and unrelated discovery. Claiming the listing does not automatically require the retailer to join the general directory.
Brand and stockist information must be factual, current, customer-relevant and non-misleading. It must not state or imply live inventory, guaranteed availability, retailer endorsement beyond the displayed relationship, or ownership or control of another business.
FarmGateRun may merge duplicates, separate different branches, request evidence or clarification, restrict discovery, apply a confirmation period, pause stale information and resolve retailer disputes. A retailer dispute or opt-out may hide a relationship immediately while preserving records needed for moderation, audit and legal obligations.
