About FarmGateRun
How FarmGateRun began
FarmGateRun began with a simple comment from my mother. She said it would be great if there were an easy way to find fresh, healthy food directly from the people who grow, raise or produce it.
That idea stayed with me. I started thinking about how Australians could discover farm gates, roadside stalls, local producers and other regional food businesses—and then plan a practical driving route to visit several of them in one trip.
From that simple conversation, FarmGateRun began to grow into something broader: a platform for discovering not only fresh local food, but also farm experiences, regional attractions, country cafés, accommodation and other places that help connect people with rural and regional Australia.
The goal is to make it easier for people to support Australian producers, understand where their food comes from and enjoy the journey along the way.
Who is behind FarmGateRun?
FarmGateRun is currently a one-person, independently Australian-owned project created and managed by me, Shane.
I also work full-time, so I develop, maintain and support FarmGateRun outside my normal work commitments. Because I am not always available to answer calls during the day, I have chosen not to publish a telephone number at this stage.
The best way to contact me is through the FarmGateRun contact form or by email at admin@farmgaterun.com. Every message is reviewed personally, and I will respond as soon as reasonably possible.
FarmGateRun may currently be a one-man operation, but the vision is much bigger: to build a useful national platform that helps Australians discover farm gates, local producers, farm experiences and regional communities.
Thank you for supporting FarmGateRun as it continues to grow.
